The 4-Second Delay That Became a Feature
2026-05-19
I was in the sports barn with Megan the other night, working on back bends and kickovers.
I hooked my phone up to a cheap projector so we could pull up YouTube videos. While we were at it, I opened the camera to record her.
The camera synced to the projector and turned the wall into a mirror.
But something caused a 4-second lag.
At first I thought it was broken.
Then Megan did a backbend and looked over at the screen. She watched herself complete the move in real time.
She said, "This is awesome — I can see myself doing a backbend."

The lag, normally a digital sin, became instant replay.
No stopping to record, review, and rewind. She could do reps at her own cadence, glance over, and self-correct.
That accident became Mirror Mode in Player 1 Training.
A feature born from a dad trying to help his daughter and a cheap projector's glitch.
